I was in Europe last week (seems like I am in Europe every other week, I'm not getting used to these trans-Atlantic flights; yes, I travel cattle-class; yes, biz class would be much better; but, we're a hardworking startup...) participating in the SOFNET conference in London's Olympia conference center.
The conference was good - focused on the merging points of networks and software, and mobility was an important track in it - given how mobility inherently brings networks and software together to make everything more useful. I spoke on a panel about convergence (which is a very fluid concept given that we see convergence all around us, and so people had a very wide spectrum of ideas to present on this topic).
Additionally, we were finalists in two award categories at this event, which was very exciting, and gave us excellent recognition at the show! Here is the full press release.
I also gave an interview to TelecomTV, which was a nice experience - and Martyn Warwick asked me all the right questions for me to explain everything that DeviceAnywhere (including DeviceAnywhere Consumer) is all about. Here is my interview (and btw, this was a one-take-interview - no edits, which was really cool!)

With each trip to Europe I learn a bit more about the business culture there. We are making big strides in that marketplace now. We're in the process of setting up an office in Cambridge, UK, and we'll be staffing up that office with a few sales and technical resources (if anyone knows any interesting field/inside sales people, please forward them to me at fsyed@deviceanywhere.com).
For one day before the SOFNET event I was in Paris talking to several French journalists about our recently announced partnership with Mobile Distillery, the premier porting technology provider. Those discussions went really well, and we have already gotten immense press coverage as a result, and more on its way.
...and BTW, the Eurostar (train) is an excellent way to go between London and Paris (I took the last train back to London), except I have no idea why they have face-to-face seating, which makes the already-small leg room - tiny; I'm not a tall guy by any means, but it was really uncomfortable to say the least...
...back to business...another thing to watch out for from DeviceAnywhere is our growing list of DeviceAnywhere Connect partners (Mobile Distillery is one of them) - our goal is to bring value-added partners to the table, so that our customers can enjoy a good combination of best-of-breed solutions to get their work done - faster - better - cheaper....
